Functional fitness may be among the latest buzzwords in gyms these days, but for good reason. It's about training your body to handle real-life situations. Isolating muscle groups and confining our joints and their movements to that of a machine does not teach our muscles to work together synergistically. The importance of functional exercise is integration. It's about teaching all the muscles to work together rather than isolating them to work independently. At CrossFit Löwe our programming for our personal clients and for our group classes involves functional training and core to extremity training which we believe go hand in hand.

 

The five classic components of fitness are muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility. Although, there are other subsets like power, speed, agility, stability, and mobility which were usually reserved for athletic development, but now are necessities for the general public. With proper program design and education each component can be addressed and introduced into the lives of every member of CrossFit Löwe which will lead to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.

 

CrossFit Löwe insists on developing and enhancing these components into training the body for activities performed in daily life. Their holistic approach is revolutionizing fitness and wellness. Everyone has their own individual needs, whether it is hypertrophy training, weigh loss training, athletes performance, core training, mobility, injury prevention, or all of the above. However, regardless to our individual needs our bodies all respond to positive when introduced to constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements. Therefore, at CrossFit Löwe we focus on an a variety of different movements ranging from strength training in various forms, to gymnastic movements, cardiovascular, speed and agility, plyometrics and much more. These exercises include but are not limited to biking, running, swimming, and rowing in an endless variety of drills. The clean & jerk, snatch, squat, deadlift, push-press, bench-press, and power-clean. Jumping, medicine ball throws and catches, pull-ups, dips, push-ups, handstands, presses to handstand, pirouettes, kips, cartwheels, muscle-ups, sit-ups, scales, and holds. We make regular use of bikes, the track, rowing shells and ergometers, Olympic weight sets, rings, parallel bars, free exercise mat, horizontal bar, plyometrics boxes, medicine balls, and jump rope.

 

Our philosophy of training is constantly varied and we use functional movements performed at a high intensity. Simply put, we use free weights, our own bodies, and a wide open space to get in shape and more importantly, get you ready for anything you do in life. At CrossFit Lowe, we train anyone willing to put in the sweat and handwork to achieving true fitness.
